Shadows

This is the first time,
That I’ve thought about us,
About what happens when I make it,
Will you still be there to hold,
On the nights that I break,
On the days that I say,
“I don’t want this anymore. Can you make it all go away?”
When all my demons surface and the world see’s my flaws,
Will you silence all the voices,
When the wolves growl at the door.

You are my lonely shadow,
Your with me threw and threw,
As we dance in the lonely darkness,
On a worn out pot holed view,
As we push threw that noisy silence,
We wave to all the ghosts,
That danced to the beat of a small town dream,
On a worn out winding road.

There’s things I just can’t tell you,
Things I can’t explain,
So I talk to this bottle of whiskey,
To the pain all goes away,
But truth is in the morning,
This emptiness inside,
It makes me crave the drug I love the most,
You’re the one that gets me high.
Higher than the heavens,
And deeper than the hole,
From when I said that I’d be fine without you,
This dream is all I know,
All I know….

You are my lonely shadow,
Your with me threw and threw,
As we dance in the lonely darkness,
On a worn out pot holed view,
As we push threw that noisy silence,
We wave to all the ghosts,
That danced to the beat of a small town dream,
On a worn out winding road.

Are you coming home tonight
Girl I miss you so,
Cuz this world can get heavy,
When you’re carrying it alone.
